With the rapid development of the national economy, the railway transportation isincreasingly important in economy. State has improved the running speed of the trainsix times, in order to adapt to the social efficiency. However, the safety of trainoperation need to secure, through the monitoring of train devices to ensure the workingstate of each equipment in the train can be grasped in real time is an effective measuresto achieve the safe operation of the train. Through make the monitoring system to benetworked, can make the system efficiency to be improved. Therefore, developing thetrain network monitoring system of independent research and development is ameaningful subject.Since the nineties, fieldbus technology led control technology and automationtechnology have an important change. Its characteristics, such as real-time, reliable, lowcost, easy to use, make it be applied to the controlled site layer. In fieldbus Lonworks isthe one has advantages, which invented by the American Echelon company, andadvocated with MOTOROLA company and Toshiba company. It uses lontalk protocol,which based on the all seven layers of ISO/OSI model. It uses object-oriented designmethod, the communication rate can be up to1.25Mbps, direct communication distancecan be up to2.7Km, supporting twisted-pair cable, coaxial cable and other mediums ofcommunication.This thesis first analyzes the research status of train monitoring system at homeand abroad, and elaborates the significance of research. Then introduces the principle ofLonworks technology, and then analyses the feasibility of applying Lonworkstechnology to the monitoring system of train, and puts forward a kind of scheme thatuse Lonworks fieldbus, MCU, neuron chip, ARM-Linux technology and othertechnologies to design the network monitoring system of train. Its function is to makeall kinds of train devices access Lonworks network to centrally monitoring devices’ status. Its components include the sensor, the gateway,the vehicle bus, the router, thetrain bus, the comprehensive monitoring terminal, the portable computer, etc. In thispaper, the working process of the system and the design of the router are elaboratelyintroduced, especially in the part of the design of the Lonworks gateway and thecomprehensive monitoring terminal.The result of test shows that the performance of this system is stable and reliable,which meets the real-time monitoring requirements of train. The future work is to addmore functions to make the system more perfect.
