Forest fire prevention becomes more and more importance in our country because of the significance of forest resources and the fracture and multiple of forest fire. To decrease loss of the forest fire, the best way is taking action in early stages and detecting the fire timely. In recently, the detecting methods need large human and material resources, and can’t be all-weather in effect. This thesis discuses the significance and application of wireless senor network for forest fires detect system. The thesis included the overall design of wireless senor network for forest fires detect system and its hardware and software design. The main contents as follows:(1) The system design scheme of wireless senor network is put forward and overall designed. It includes three parts:wireless senor network node, wireless gateway node and terminal network database. Wireless senor network node contains embedded system and sensors to field collect the temperature, humidity and smog; then the data send to wireless gateway node; last send to terminal network database.(2) The hardware design of wireless senor network. To obtain low power consumption wireless, system reliability and field collection, microprocessor Cortex-M3and wireless chip CC2420(TI, based on ZigBee) is used; the senor of temperature humidity is SHT11; the smog senor is MQ-2.(3) The software design of wireless senor network included the design of field data collect; transform selectivity data in CC2420; the sleep mode in Cortex-M3and CC2420to lower power consumption and extends senior’s using time limit. The summary of the work and prospects of the wireless senor network is placed in the last.
