Purpose:To investigate the efficacy and safety of bedside intra-aortic balloonpumping(IABP) therapy on the old elderly patients with acute myocardialinfarction (AMI) complicated with cardiogenic shock.Material and method:Analysis42(over75years of age) AMI complicated withcardiogenic shock patients which receive treatment in Liaoning Jinqiu Hospitalduring November2010to March2012. Divided them into bedside IABP placementgroup and conventional IABP placement group. All patients were applicationemergency percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) therapy and IABP treatment.Investigate the blood pressure、heart rate and serum creatinine before and aftertreatment. Also investigate the occurrence of complications of IABP treatment.Analysis the efficacy and safety of IABP treatment for AMI patients complicatedwith cardiogenic shock.Results:In42patients,3cases dead of malignant arrhythmia during3-5daysafter pull out arterial sheath tube.39cases survived, the survival rate was92.3%.There was no statistical significance between the two groups comparativemortality in patients. The results showed, contrast with before treatment bothsystolic pressure and diastolic pressure of peripheral artery increasedsignificantly, and all have statistical significance (P <0.05). There wasno significant difference of blood pressure between the two groups during thesame period (P>0.05).The heart rate significantly decreased with statisticalsignificance (P <0.05)than before treatment. There was no significantdifference of heart rate between the two groups during the same period (P>0.05). The serum creatinine between preoperative and postoperative were seenno significant change (P>0.05),which has no statistical significance. There were6cases with postoperative hematoma (4in conventional IABP group4,2in bedside IABP group), occurring at a rate of14.28%. Others like LowerLimb Ischemia、Arterial Perforation、Artery dissection of Catheter insertion and Infection were not occur in all patients with. Conclusion:Both bedside IABP placement and conventional IABP placement caneffectively improve patients’ blood pressure, decreased heart rate, stablehemodynamics, and have no effects on renal function for elderly patients withacute myocardial infarction complicated with cardiogenic shock patients. And therate of complications is low. Bedside IABP placement can provides a transitiontime for sever patients undergoing reperfusion therapy. Improve the survivalrate of the patients.
