| Objective:To evaluate the clinical curative effect of Jingxin Zhidong Fang by the clinical observation of the treatment for the Tourette’s syndrome and the comparison before and after the treatment; Compare the level of C3.C4and IgA,IgG,IgM before and after the treatment, by which to explore the regulation of immune function of TS children by Jingxin Zhidong Fang; Try to clear the correlation between those targets tested and symptom severity by comparing those targets tested of different symptom severity before the treatment.Methods:Take the diagnostic criteria from DSM-IV about TS as inclusion criteria.31patients were selected from pediatric outpatient department in Guang’anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences as samples. None of these samples was adopted other treatments before or during this study and the one couldn’t complete the study would be removed. Serum levels of IgA, IgG, IgM, C3. C4were tested before and after the treatment of Chinese herbs by immunoturbidimety in the clinical laboratory within the hosipital. biochemical criterions were also tested after the treatment; the effect and symptom severity were assessed by Yale Global Tic Severity Scale also before and after the treatment.Results:One sample was removed because of its uncompleted study and30samples were left. Males (28) were more than females (2) in samples; clients were in the majority with7to12years old. the youngest one was6years old while the oldest one was18years old. the average age of seeing doctor was11.77±2.73years old; course of disease was in the majority with1-3years, the shortest one was1year while the longest one was7years. the average level was2.85±1.67years; onset of age was in the majority with7-12yeas old. the youngest one was3years old while the oldest one was13years old, the average level was8.18±2.72years old. According to the YGTSS. there were9serious level samples,21moderate level samples and0mild level samples before the treatment; it changed into0serious level samples,6moderate level samples and24mild level samples while the treatment was over. The grade of YGTSS changed from45.20±9.13to19.10±7.28after the treatment.(p=0.000). The total effective rate was96.67%. No sample showed abnormal in biochemical criterions. C3and IgG levels tested after the treatment were higher than those tested before the treatment.(P<0.05). alteration of C4, IgA and IgM levels was not significant(P>0.05),however,C4and IgA levels presented a trend of increasing after the treatment.C3,C4,IgA,IgM and IgG levels in serious level samples showed no significance compared with those tested in moderate level samples before the treatment(P>0.05), but all these targets tested in moderate level samples showed a trend-level elevation compared to those tested in serious level samples.Using the partial correlation analysis, according to the absolute value relative size sorting of the standard coefficient and partial correlation coefficient, the importance of the influencing factors for the grade of YGTSS from big to small turned for IgG, C3, IgM, IgA and C4. P>0.05, there was no linear relationship between the grade of YGTSS and those targets tested.Conclusion:These date indicate that jing xin zhi dong fang has precise clinical efficacy for Tourette’s syndrome, it can improve the body’s immune function by regulating the level of C3,IgG and possibly the level of C4and IgA. C3,C4and Ig levels showed no correlation with symptom severity, but the trend-level elevation of these targets between different samples prompted that the severity of patient’s condition might relate to the levels of immunoglobulin profiles and complement. After eliminating the influence of different bariables, IgG and C3showed the closest relationgship with the grade of YGTSS in this study. |
