The essay mainly focus on Master Jing Hui’s summer camp activities of the "Zen’s way of life", investigating from 4 aspects: Zen’s historical overview, organizational development, ideological origins, and practical effects to the Zen under modern times. And hold a discussion on Zen’s continuing as well as involution.This essay composed by two parts: the introduction text and the main text. Mainly including the reason why choose this topic, the basis for the thesis and the literature review, survey site profiles, the formation of development, and the analysis of this lifestyle and its effectiveness .In the article, the author will elaborate the Zen’s way of life through her truly experience in the summer camp of Zen’s way of life which held by temple of Huangmei, Hu Bei province. In this article, one could see the new point and effect of the summer camp activities from the daily self-cultivation, especially what’s new when compare to the traditional ways of self-cultivation. How could this new way of self-cultivation successfully adapt to the modern world without changing the essence of Buddhism and interpret a mutual interaction between“Sacred and the secular," "Conflict and Integration". Also, the author would analyse the positive feedbacks from the participants and show how the activity advances with the times.First, using the method of field survey to give a detailed research and description on the summer camp hold in Huangmei for those young people who know little about the Buddhism. The description, in which the religious history and the general environment of Huangmei as well as the four ancestral temple, the formation process of religious are all involved. Besides, the author will also give a intensive illustration to the daily life in the summer camp, such as morning and evening classes, meditation, worship and so on. All this description would give people a vivid impression of“Compassion and Wisdom Double Win”and "Buddha spirit“which transfer positive spirit of the Zen’s way of life.Secondly, to analyze the description based on the experience of the effects of religious life. The author primarily researched and interviewed from the faith and practice of the participants, and come to a conclusion: the ancestral temple in Huangmei offers an opportunity for young people to experience the Zen’s way of life, and set up a bridge between these young people and Zen’s Buddhism, this changes the traditional Buddhist idea which is passive and it leaves people a positive impression which transfer the individual spirit, harmonious interpersonal relationships, and peaceful social life.Finally, the author would discuss the promoting methods of the temple in Huangmei, the Zen’s way of life not only carries on the tradition of Buddhist, but also adapts to the modern world. The Zen’s way of life promotes the development of Chinese Buddhism and sets a positive new image for modern Chinese Buddhism too.
