How the status and position of the tomb owner isrepresented by bronze funerary objects, and how nonâ€burial bronzesreflect certain concepts. This article looks at the characteristics of theburial sites, using temporal and regional differences between China andJapan to summarize and classify the phenomenon of nonâ€burial bronzes,with analysis of many aspects of regional cultural traditions and localcultural traditions related to beliefs, wealth preservation, religiousworship, and political power. A comparative study of the causes andorigins of similar phenomenon between ancient Chinese and Japanesenonâ€burial bronzes, and an inâ€depth look at the impact of similarities anddifferences between the two cultures. This article also looks at linksbetween ancient cultures from an Eastâ€Asian perspective, and introducessome possible reasons for the cultural upheaval between the JapaneseJomon and Yayoi periods. |
