The material of translation part was chosen from the novel Hurt Go Happy written by the American female writer Ginny Rorby, the selected section is about 10000 words.The novel was a story of a girl named Joey. She was beaten to deaf by her father when she was a child and then learnt to be strong during the process to save her friend the chimpanzee Sukari. The American Sign Language (ASL) is one of the most distinguished features of this novel. The title "Hurt Go Happy" was also a sign language sentence in the work with the form HURT GO, HAPPY. The meaning of it had been explained in the selected section, this was also the reason why those passages were chosen to translate and discuss. Besides the source of the title, this part also includes sign language communications, written dialogues, letters and legal files.The critical part of the thesis firstly introduced the consideration of how to translate the title "Hurt Go Happy", then it discussed the difficulty of title translation of literature works and adapted films and the problems one will meet on the way.
