Ye Guangqin, a Qing dynasty descendant with extra-provincial identity and Japan study and life background, had a prominent family and also experienced the tremendous change of family break and country destroy. Through multi-experience of different culture, Ye Guangqin’s creative tendency is gradually clear:spreading traditional culture essence as a Manchu writer. Peking Opera has a very close connection with Manchu and naturally Manchu culture and the Peking Opera become the central part in Ye Guangqin’s story. Peking Opera novels is a wonder in the contemporary literary world, it’s fresh, unique and has the refinedness of the traditional culture and is free from vulgarity, also it combines the Peking Opera art and novel, bring out the best in each other. Peking opera has become the shinest element in the novel, which in return gives a peculiar glamour on the novel.This article focuses on the study of Ye Guangqin’Peking opera novels, with Peking opera as the starting point to explore the role and influence of Peking opera in Ye Guangqin’s novel creation. Besides the introduction and conclusion, the article is divided into three chapters:the first chapter explains the reasons why Peking opera becomes an important element in Ye Guangqin’s creation, which includes two aspects:the history atmosphere and family cultural influence. The Peking Opera history, the relationship between the Manchus and the Peking Opera, and the special bond Ye’s family had to the Peking opera are the main content of this chapter; the second chapter is a detailed analysis of the impact Peking opera had on Ye Guangqin’s novel creation in terms of subject, form, structure, characters, content. It pointed out that the Peking opera’s unique significance in Ye Guangqin’s novel through the comparative Analysis of Li Bihua and Eileen Chang and Bi Feiyu’s related works, Chapter III digs around with the common desolate atmosphere that opera and the novel both has, and discusses that "Life is like a play," which is filled with frustration and drama, and the different types of characters are the undertakers of the different outcome of their Fate. From the struggle of the charactors between the fictional "play" and the fate, it identifies the internal relations of the opera and the novel.
