Chivalrous novel is an important type of Chinese ancient novels, and it’s a mail goal to figure the knights who apply themselves to behave chivalrously and get rid of the wicked in these novels. In this paper, we try to analyze the statures of knights on the base of several chivalrous novels in Qing Dynasty and consider this question from three angles:the chivalrous actions, the merit and fame consciousness and the relationship between the knights and the upright officials. The knights’chivalrous actions and their habits in the secluded world exhibit the brilliance and wildness of the knights’statures. The knights achieve their goals, succoring the distressed and getting rid of the wicked, in two ways:behaving chivalrously by themselves and cooperating with the authorities, but the habits also bring them negative effect. Knights’attitudes to merit and fame show their secular emotion. Through their own actions, many knights are enamored of establishing achievements and becoming renowned in aftertime, which is a universal mentality among them. The cooperation between the knights and the upright officials, which can incarnates one of the knights’statures, is an important character in chivalrous novels of Qing Dynasty.
