As tribute trade perished and private trade was rampant in mid-late Ming dynasty,Zhangzhou private trading ports which centered in Yuegang emerged quickly. After the western countries such as Portugal and Spain went eastward, the Ming seafaring restriction relaxed and the ban on the Yuegang lifted,Yuegang became an important port which connected China,Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean in the southeastern coast. It became an important part of world trade system in the process of trade, interaction and connection with some countries in the Indian and Pacific Ocean. With the development of Zhangzhou private trade, the Ming government lifted the ban on the Yuegang, and established Duxiangguan to supervise Yuegang and levy the tax which became a significant revenue of Yuegang,Haicheng Couty and the Prefecture of Zhangzhou. These areas made a great development and showed the full prosperity. At the same time,a large number of traders migrated to the Philippines and the America, and made great contributions to these areasā€™development. However,After government lifting the ban on Yuegang, it lasted only several decades, being down the wind with the capture of foreigners and haikou and giving the way to Xiamen Port which has the more superior geographical conditions.
