There was a revolusion of orchestra in the later19thcentury.Which thewoodwind and Brass was improved,and the number of the percussion wasgrowing,plus,lot of new technique was used on instruments.All these reasonwas enriched the acoustics of the orchestra works.The composers ofRomantism and Impressionism were dying to express their feelings bymusic,so many famous works that we know are come from those days,And stilla treasure for now. Many monumental works about orchestration that stillused by now was came from that time too. So it is very meaningful to studythe works of that time.Ravel was a composer of Impressionism.Chbrier was a composer ofRomantism,they are all Franch,and they are all composed a work aboutspain,one was called “Espana”,the other was called “Rapsody of Espana”,all of them are rhapsodies which makes them well connected. Not only thedifference of the works could be found,the style of the composer could betell too after the comparing.The most different things between Impressionism and Romantism are thesence of acoustics.So the key of this thesis is to analyse the acousticsof these two works.Incording to build a new method to analyse the acoustics,the theory ofPsychology and the phonics will be used by this thesis.There are four part in this thesis.The first part is about the life storyof two composers,and the orchestral establishment of two works.The secondpart is to tell the form of two works.The third part is about to analyzethe different sence of acoustics between these two works.The last partis to buid a new theory about the acoustics of orchestra.
