Gadamer's Horizon Fusion Theory Research

Gadamer thinks that，interpreter and the object (which are explained byinterpreter) are have their own horizon .the object include history，books，personallife，philosophy，works of art are all have their own origins of the historicalhorizon.Therefore，when we understand the works of history，philosophy，or somekind of culture given with a history of sight are bound to have the conflict between thetwo different sights and historical background.But the process of understanding is notrequired as the classical hermeneutics，the interpreter should abandon their sight andexpose to the object domain，but this requirement is practically impossible.Understandare neither to completely abandon the sight of their own and put into the objecthorizon，nor put the object into the interpreter’s horizon simply，but the interpreterstarting from the original sight continuely and in contact with the object to beunderstood，so as to examine our prejudices and expand our horizon，and thus thetwo sight forms a whole new horizon，this process is called "fusion ofhorizons".Understanding of the historical text was made possible because of thereaders of the text and the author’s fusion of horizons.However，the author’s thought is not possible scale for measuring thesignificance of a work of art，even a work，if divorced from the reality of which isconstantly updated experienced，and only to talk about it from itself，they containsome kind of abstraction also.In reference to logic of question and answer，Gadamerpointed out that the logic of question and answer must to reconstruct two differentanswer to two different questions，that is the process of a major event′s meaningand the process whether or not finished according to plan..Just as historical events donot generally consistent with the subjective idea of the history person，the meaningtendency of the text is generally far beyond the intent of its original author had.Thetask of understanding is focus on the meaning of text itself.Thus，Gadamer explicitlypointed out that "what we want to reconstructed does not involve the experience ofauthor ideological firstly，it only involving the meaning of the text itself." We try todepart the meaning of the text from the author′s intent，and reiterated the originalmeaning of the author.Because we can not to ignore or skip the author’s intention soeasily，and don’t talk about it.I think that there are three kinds of horizons fusion，thatis: the author，the text and the interpreter.Therefore，the process of understanding andexplanation consist of three levels: First，the fusion of horizons between the authorand the text，which reflects the relationship of original meaning betweenthem .Secondly，the fusion of horizons between the text and the interpreter，thisreflects the relationship of a variety of meanings.Finally，the consistence between theoriginal meaning and implication.Therefore，this paper is broadly divided into four parts: firstly traced the origin ofhorizon，summarized the interpretation and analysis of the horizon，and furtherpointed out that the nature of the fusion of horizons in the game: the gamer，thegame itself，the viewer and author，the text，and the interpreter is connected soclosely.The second part examined the legal premise of the horizon，start from thereasonable position of the former see，indicating the Gadamer how to subvert the hermeneutic cycle view.The third part focuses on the question and answer dialogue inthe process of fusion of horizons characteristics and highlights the key of thelanguage.The fourth part of this article points out the significance and impact ofGadamer′s fusion of horizon theory，and make my own reflection and complementon the basis of Gadamer′s fusion of horizonstheoryWe found that the nature of Being is self-expression，however，Being does notto finished at self-expression，if so，understanding may be easy for us.Being arealways hide themselves，it always avoid and does not reveal，so as to express itsoriginal，which brings difficulties for us to our understanding，I do attempt toreplenish Gadamer’s fusion of horizons theory and show the respect to Mr .Gadamerand his fusion of horizons theory.
