Translation is a language activity that renders the thinking content fully and correctly from another language into one’s another language. Translation is not only a simple work of transformation of language, but also it’s a form of language transformation under certain cultural background. The development of language is connected with the development of culture. Being a language teacher, it is a essential and important task to search for the differences of Languages, especially the differences in cultural background; social and historical setting; habits and customs; religious beliefs and thinking styles in the source language and target language; to explore English language characteristics and the theory of Shift of perspective of cross-culture in the process of translation; finally to find the most effective English translation methods with the aid of the English translation theory. In applied linguistics translation, searching the methods and techniques for translation has always been in progress, but in this paper Ⅰ focus on research and summary according to personal experience and learning in teaching, ultimately for the teaching practice.The function of the English is mainly the transmission of information and communication. The aim of translation is the maximum equivalent of the source and translation. But it is not simple in the actual operation. In the process of translation, the translator overcome cultural differences and deal with transformation of language which can be achieved by Shift of perspective. This paper mainly involves the English language features, cultural differences, translation theories, principles and related strategies. The introduction section explains the translation characteristics; basic knowledge of the translation theory; standards and related strategies. In the theoretical part, it includes translator Nida, his translation theory and traditional Chinese translation theory. The second part dilates from the cultural differences, the social background, and other aspects of the language features; the definition of the shift of perspective; the categories of the shift of perspective. The fourth part is the translation skills. It is emphatically focused on the translation skills and strategies from the target language and the original language (conversion of the words; changes of sentence patterns; supplement of subjects). From the opposite angles (Negation, the opposite of the voice) or conventions of words (conventions of nouns; conventions of verbs; conventions of adjectives and adverbials etc.). Abstraction and Specification (from Abstraction to Specification; from Specification to Abstraction).the important means---Shifts of Image.(the kinds and the methods). The methods of Paraphrase and figures of speech.In the end, the paper summarizes the shift of perspective in translations. So we can draw a conclusion:The equivalence in meanings is relative; there is only the equivalence in context. The shift of perspective in EC translations is truly the shift of perspective in culture.
