I will take myself who was sent to Thailand to be a teacher of Chinese as an example, giving certain experiences and lessons to those who is going to Thailand as Chinese teachers about how to solve their emotional stress and cultural obstacles when they exposed to a strange and new atmosphere. First of all, this paper describes the general idea about Thailand and its education, which assumed the problems which those who teach Chinese as a foreign language in Thailand will face. Secondly, the paper introduces some information about the school which I was in and the teaching conditions of me, integrating my experiences with the problems of cultural adaption to answer the questions of emotional stress and cultural adjustment to those who will go to Thailand as Chinese teachers. The process of cultural adjustment is divided into four parts, that is, the material, system, behaviour, mentality. The four parts integrated with each other and functioned effectively, which reflects something as follows:the adjustment towards Thailand’s climate, food and clothing; the adjustment towards Thailand’s state system, Buddhism and education system; the adjustment towards the kowtow etiquette and taking off shoes on certain occasion; the adjustment towards the relationship with local teachers and the loneliness when we are in different country. Finally, the paper make a general description which summarized my own experience of teaching Chinese in Thailand, analyzing my lessons and fruits of teaching Chinese in Thailand to get the ways of how to adjust when teaching Chinese in Thailand as a foreign teacher.
