Xixiawen "add Product Lotus Sutra" (volume 2) Translation

"Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing" written by Tangut language was first uncovered in1917in Lingwu city of Hui Autonomous Region of Ningxia, northwest of China.Now it is being preserved in National Library of China, the sixth volume of the Chinese Tangut Manuscrips collection. So far no one has ever comprehensively done research in this field. This paper is the explanation of "Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing"(volume2) which is kept in National Library of China. There are chapter3and chapter4in the second volume. The contents of volume2are that the Buddha says the Buddha Dharma to the living beings through two metaphors:one metaphor is "Huo Zhai Si Che Yu", the other is "Qiong Zi De Bao Yu". On the bases of "Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing"(volume2) from Taisho Revised Tripitaka, this paper is to give a sentence-by-sentengce explanation of the original.This paper selects the documents as the research object, which has certain significance. It promotes the Tangut language’s research and the Tangut literature’s arrangement. This paper also summarizes the Buddhist terms, and its translation methods to provide a more reliable basic data for Buddhist literature.This article consists of four parts:Chapter1:Instruction.Firstly, to make a brief introduction of significance, present achievement of study. Secondly, to introduce the unearthed, collection situation and the main contents of" Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing"(volume2).Chapter2:The introduction of Fa Hua Jing" and "Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hu Jing"(volume2).This chapter consists of three parts:Firstly, to make a introduction of Chinese version of "Fa Hua Jing", such as the author, the main content and introduce the Tangut version. Secondly, to introduce the Translation, printed, circulation situation of Tangut version briefly. Thirdly, to have a detailed description on the difference and contact between "Fa Hua Jing"and "Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing".Chapter3translation and annotation of "Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing"(volume2)of Tangut version. This chapter is the most important part of the article. Interpreted text consists of four parts:the original Tangut text of "Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing", word by word Chinese translation of the Tangut text, the relevant portion of the text and many explanatory notes, which includes the comparison of the two versions, the annotation of Buddhism terminology. I also have attempted to examine the word meanings and the phenomenons of Tangut grammar.Chapter4:Conclusion.This chapter is the summary and simple research of the issues in Chapter3.It consists of two parts: One part of is that investigation into the language style of Tangut version of "Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing", it is pointed that Tangut text combines flexible style and faithful style. Secondly, the research into Buddhism terminology in "Tian Pin Miao Fa Lian Hua Jing", makes preliminary explanatory notes and classification, it’s found that translators are adept in Buddhism theory. According to the nation’s social customs and language features, they make great efforts in order to get the completely accurate Buddhist Scripture.
