Haiyang Dialect Pronunciation Vocabulary Study

Haiyang city locates in the south-central part of Shangdongpeninsula., southern part of the Jiaoliao peninsula. Haiyang dialect is animportant part of Jiaoliao dialect. Now there are many study reportsabout Jiaoliao dialect, but most of them concentrated in the vicinity ofYantai, Weihai. Haiyang dialect reports very few, only in some Jiaoliaodialect’s reports mentioned some characteristics of Haiyang phonology.So far there is no one system thesis on the theory of Haiyang dialect.The main contents of this article is about detailed description fromphonology and vocabulary, basing on comprehensive fieldinvestigation.The phonology side, firstly, the thesis made a comprehensiveintroduction of Haiyang phonology. Haiyang dialect has25initials,37finals and3tones. Based on this, we sort out the table of Haiyangsyllables.Secondly, we mainly described the changes of pronunciation andtones, including the changes of the tone sandhi, neutral tone, retroflestone and “zi” suffix tone.Thirdly, in order to explore the evolution of Haiyang dialect, Haiyangdialect compared with mandarin and ancient Chinese. Throughsynchronic comparison, we can find the difference and contractbetween Haiyang dialect and mandarin; through diachroniccomparison, we can sort out the historical sources of initials, finals andtones in Haiyang dialect.The vocabulary part, basing on <the table of Chinese dialectwords>, we did a survey about Haiyang dialect words and tried todescribe pronunciation in detail.The last part of the thesis is a detailed description of Haiyang dialectretrofles tone. retrofles tone phenomenon is wildly used in Haiyang dialect. This section has more descriptions about the location and therole retrofles tone in Haiyang dialect.Using the methods of delineation and contrast, this thesisresearched on phonology and vocabulary systemly in Haiyang dialect.Hoping through these researches, we can provide a rich and detailedvoice materials for further study on Jiaoliao dialect...
