First and foremost, this thesis uses instrumental phonetics, together with language statistics and language contrast methods to analyze the main part of the distribution of the long and short vowels of Vietnamese language, similarities and differences of33people from North Vietnam with regard to difference in age and sex, hoping to provide the basis for database of the researches of Vietnamese language. The results of the experiment shows that:(1)The tone and the pitch of Vietnamese language tones during the distribution of the main parts basically haven’t received the effect of the length of the main vowel, but the tone level and the fourth tone etc. Endings of the finals of syllables have definite and distinguishing function for acute and repetition, making the relaxed sharp tone and the fourth tone to have a difference in the melody, type and pitch. Regarding the tone, the difference between the relaxed tone and the fourth tone in melody, type between them remains the same.(2)The main characteristics of the tones of the monosyllabic words are: the level tone is the middle high tone, its pitch is44; the deep tone is the middle low falling tone, its pitch is31; the dropping tone is the middle high intricate, its pitch is435; the asking tone is the middle low intricate, its pitch is411; the sharp middle sound and the relaxed tone is the anterior segment, having small rising tone in the shape of凹, its pitch is325; the fourth tone is a high rising tone, its pitch is55; the sound is a middle falling tone and its pitch is of a relaxed fourth tone i.e.43and42respectively.(3)The difference in the characteristics of the tones according to the different sexes is that mostly the place of the starting point of the asking sound and the entering sound of women and the melody of the level tone are a little bit higher than that of men. The differences in the tones according to age are more, the place of the starting point of the asking tone and entering tone of young people and the height of the place of the ending point of middle aged people is a little bit higher.Besides that, in contrast analysis and error analysis of languages, using the interlanguage theory, the method of perception in listening and acoustics experiment to analyze the acquisition of Chinese character tones of students of different levels of studying Chinese language, these theories also investigate the common problems of this acquisition and discovers that:(1)The perceptive ability and the level of the pronunciation of Vietnamese students are not synchronic, the perception is before the pronunciation;(2) The most common error in the perception is mixing of the high, level tones and the falling tone and in the pronunciation the errors are complicated and disorderly, they mostly are: high and level tone types, the melody is lower than normal and they get mixed with the falling tone. The melody of the rising tone is lower than normal and is not rising enough, the starting point of falling rising tone is higher than normal, the turning point is a little put off, it only falls and does not rise enough. The starting point of the falling tone is that it slowly falls but the ending point does not fall enough etc.(3) Among the mistakes in the four tones of the middle level students in perception and pronunciation is that the mistake of becoming rigid and therefore mixing high level tone and falling tones. Advanced students on the contrary, for them the falling tone does not fall enough and falling-rising tone only falls does not rise. Finally, using the characteristics discovered in the acquisition by Vietnamese students of the Chinese character tones, they did a little explaining of the causes and made some propositions regarding studying Chinese language, hoping to be able the provide a reference for Vietnamese students studying Chinese tones.
