Sri Lanka's native language is Sinhala, Sinhala belongs to the Indo-European language family. It is a toneless language. In the process of learning Chinese, Sri Lankan students found the Chinese tones to be one of the most difficult aspects. A common phenomenon of the students was the replacement of Chinese tones with intonation from their mother language. Two kinds of acoustic experiments were used to analyse the Sri Lankan students' acquisition of the Chinese four tones. And by focusing on the acquisition of Sri Lankan students analysaion. Founding out about the mandarin tones acquisition problems, and giving corresponding teaching countermeasures based on the problems.This article has investigated 20 students who from Sri Lanka (10 senior Chinese level students and 10 junior Chinese level students) acoustical experiment and aims,the experimental results, through the data analysis process and characteristics of the sri lankan student tone acquisition.This paper has been divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction part, mainly including the research background and the study methods.The second part mainly about tones of Sri Lankan students experimental research,and analyzed the relevant experimental results.The third part mainly about students in Sri Lanka for the single syllable tone experiment, and analyzed the related experimental results.The fourth part mainly has carried on the double syllable tones to Sri Lanka students aims of the experiment, the experimental results and related analysis.The fifth part is mainly about tones experiment and the experimental results. Based on the results adjusting the teaching methods.
