Chinese and English have lots of colorful idioms. Idioms are the essence of anation language. It can reflect cultural characteristics of a nation with a most obviousmeans. Chinese and English were under the influence of the different social culturalbackground.This paper was chosen the Chinese and English idioms as its object of study andselected the Chinese and English idioms rich in cultural connotation. We want tocontrast the Chinese and English idioms to reveal the close relationship betweenlanguage differences and cultural differences. Discuss the cultural differences betweenChinese idiom and English idiom from five aspects.
