Bonpo, the primitive religious which is popular in Qinghai-Tibet Platean, is the root of the traditional Tibetan culture. Due to the special geographical relations of Tibet, Bonpo had absorbed the religious factors of West and South Asia in the process of its development and also assimilated the Tibetan Buddhism. So Bonpo has become an ancient religion that is different from the original religions.WangJia temple, the largest Bonpo temple of QingHai province which was founded in1062, has been nearly one thousand years’history. In the golden age of WangJia temple, there were more than eight hundred monks. Now, there are a hundred and eight monks including five Living Buddhas and nine Khenpos. The paper focuses on the WangJia temple’s religious ceremony activities and analysis the music of the ceremony. The main point of the paper is the research of the ceremony of Qiang’s God Dance in Lunar September and the music in the ceremony. Moreover, the paper also focuses on the cultrual background analysis, and the relationship between the music and the ceremony. Through the research, the paper explores the function and its significance of the Bonpo culture, and debats the protection of its present situation and development of its future.The introduction, text and conclusion are three main parts of the paper. The introduction describes the research object, meaning and the achievement of the fieldwork. The text mainly introduces the historical development of Bonpo, the development situation of the Tibetan Bonpo, and also the brief introduction of WangJia temple. The objective of the paper is to clearly understand the belief and dissemination of Bonpo in HuangNan Tibetan autonomous prefecture, and to deeply understand the pattern of the music in the religious ceremony through the platform of the WangJia temple.With the pass of time, the development and dissemination of the Bonpo has entered a new historical period. The institutes that research the Bonpo culture has been established in USA and Canada. Comparing with the foreign study results, the Bonpo research in China just started in recent years, and we can rarely see the research of the Bonpo music. We can easily tell the preciousness of the religious and culture value of Bonpo. From the angle of ontology of music and social value, the Bonpo music is a historical heritage. We can find the ancient times’ mark of the ancient Tibetan areas through the Ritual Ceremony. We can understand the original style and feature of Tibet through the research of Bonpo culture. Therefore, if you want to know about Tibet, you have to know about Bonpo, in other words, Bonpo is a mirror of the development of Tibetan society.
