Research On The Relationship Between Tibetan Buddhism And Bonpo From The Perspective Of Historical Anthropology

Recently along with the coming out of Bonpo literature,research on Bonpo has been deepended and is on the rise among domestic tibetologists.Research results on the relationship of Buddhism and Bonpo have emerged one after another,as one of the content of Bonpo research.Nevertheless,most researches at present are based on the traditional mode of Tibetan research,that is,comparing Bonpo with Tibetan Buddhism by historical literature and religious doctrine.This paper focuses on the description of Bonpo image by Tibetan Buddhism and Bonpo and the relationship between the two religious with the help of existent historical literature.From the perspective of historical anthropology,the author uses the the notions of historical memory,historical representation and historical reality to explain how Bonpo historical memory,Bonpo historical image as historical representation,forms during Tibetan historical development and what historical reality is,in other words,the root cause of the formation of Bonpo historical memory.Meanwhile,by fieldwork the paper observes how Bonpo historical memory has influenced different religious groups in Tibetan area,namely,how different religious groups judge Bonpo image.Besides,by comparing history and reality of Bonpo historical memory,the papers tells changes and reasons and analyzes the historical reality behind Bonpo historical memory in Tibetan area.At last,the paper makes outlook for the trend of relationship between Buddhism and Bonpo in Tibetan area on the basis of comparative research.
