Culture teaching is an important part of the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. However, in the process of developing TCFL, the research on culture teaching is relatively small. Until recent years, the importance of culture teaching has attracted more and more scholars’attention.As one part of TCFL, culture teaching has always been the impact and constraints of foreign learners’Chinese proficiency. However, due to its particularity, the culture teaching of TCFL is bound to show its corresponding features. In addition, language teaching has always been intertwined with the culture teaching, the language not only is a carrier of culture, but also it explains the culture in varying degrees. So, in TCFL, language teaching and culture teaching are intertwined throughout.Based on the previous study about meaning contrast of animal words and the design of culture teaching, this thesis learns from the teaching theory of the TCFL and designs the cultural topics course of TCFL which set zodiac as an example. The thesis includes the teaching objectives, teaching content, lesson plans and after-school feedback, which analysis and compares the cultural differences on the Zodiac animals in two languages. It focuses on the meaning and application of the Zodiac in Chinese traditional culture, which helps foreign students learn more about the profound traditional Chinese culture. Through the preparatory process, implementation process and summary process of the courses, the thesis summed up in TCFL can set up special cultural teaching topics.
