Chinese zodiac (12kinds of animals) is one of significant Chinese traditional culture parts, meanwhile it has closely relationship with every Chinese lives. Chosen Chinese zodiac as an introduction to Western students to know more about Chinese tradiotional culture, about our special usage of some phrases. The design for this curriculum is based on the traditional culuture theory, characters theory and cross-culture communication theory. Meanwhile the constructivism and the effective communication theory is using as the guider for this curriculum design. The thesis will introduce the original and order of Chinese zodiac by many class activities and games, in the meantime, taking "dragon" and "sheep" as two examples to show the different animal meaning in Chinese culture, using lively way to show the shape of Chinese characters changing process to enhance their ability of writing Chinese characters. Finally, getting the teaching aim and helping students know more about traditional Chinese culture then will elevate their Chinese level. |
