The Contemporary Chinese Popular Structure Type And Its School Of Humanities And Case Analysis

The main research object of the paper is the popular constructionswhich appear in the modern Chinese in the late20th century and early21th century.Based on the Construction Grammar of Goldberg, thisthesis conducts a study on the reason、the Structural Characteristics ofthe Sentence Pattern, expression and function, and carries on thediscussion about its developing tendency.In chapter1, we mainly confirm that popular constructions arepopular words and constructions. We give a definition of the popularconstruction as a linguistic feature which has permanent part andvariational part. In different contexts, we use different variational parts,but they all have the same construction meaning by the permanentpart. The paper also determine the limits of the popular constructions.The structural characteristics and expression function of "A bing Bzhe"(A并B着) are investigated in chapter2."A bing B zhe"(A并B着) canserve as the object, predicate, attribute,complement and the topicwhen it serves as the subject."A bing B zhe"(A并B着) are divided into togroup, general type and extension type. Semantically and logically, Aand B are opposite, but usually we give prominence to the meaning ofB.In chapter3, the paper reviews the formation, reason of popularand the evolution of the popular construction "hen A hen B"(很A很B).First, it can serve as predicate, attribute and so on. Second,monosyllabic word can enter into A, and disyllabic word can enter intoB. Generally speaking, only attributive adjectives and verb can enterinto A, but some proper nouns also can enter into the construction asan exceptional usage.As the variational parts in "hen A hen B"(很A很B),A and B should meet the criteria of Chinese phonetics and make theconstruction as2+3mode. Some English words can also enter into the construction on the premise of meeting Chinese phonetics.We have made some related research about popular construction"you yi zhong A jiao B"(有一种A叫B) in chapter4. Through the researchof the semantic relation of development and formation of theconstruction, we find that speakers use "you yi zhong"(有一种) as anintensifier and express commendatory or derogatory emotion impliedly.Some words like abstract nouns, non-act verbs and adjective can enterinto A and B. The relationship between A and B is multiform, includingcausality, inverserelationship, comparativerelationship.Through the investigation and analyses on case study of popularconstructions, we make a summary about its properties and category.The popular constructions should have three characteristics: having astandard form or construction; replaceable part can be analogized;coming into being in previous generation. The popular constructionscan be separated into three type as compound clause constructions,clause constructions and phrase constructions.
