The research of opposite compound modal adverbs in this paper isa kind of the opposite compounds,which logically based on thecontradictory relation or the contrary relation directly or indirectly showthe unconditional relationship.The author expands the number ofopposite compound modal adverbs to thirteen and uses them as awhole to analyze.And on this basis,the author divides them into nospecial semantics and a special semantics,then makes a overallinvestigation in semantic and cognition aspect.In the basic semanticaspect, opposite compound modal adverbs show the unconditionalrelationship in deep logical semantic. the unconditional relationship isthe basic semantic of opposite compound modal adverbs.This basicsemantic has four kinds of expressions.In addition, this chapter alsoexamines the the relationship between basic semantic and dilemma.Inspecial semantic aspect,the two kinds of opposite compound modaladverbs are not completely equal,it is the difference in specialsemantic makes the opposite compound modal adverbs have certainrestriction in mutual replacement. Every word is the necessity ofexistence.All the special semantic can be deoxidized to the basicsemantic.In special semantic the author mainly analyses the possibilityin mutual between replacement,every opposite compound modaladverbs has its special semantic and the procedure of the specialsemantic can be deoxidized to the basic semantic.In the lastchapter,the author mainly analyse subjectivityand focus piont threeaspects of the opposite compound modal adverbs.The subjectivity canbe divided into the following several kinds: exclusiveness, predictive,concessive and summatvie..At last, the author analyse the focus pointof the opposite compound modal adverbs.
