Studies on the causal relationship between mental health, learningburnout and professional commitment are not so much in the existingresearch, and nobody have build a path model of these threeelements. Those make the study on mental health, learning burnoutand professional commitment seem to be a independent study, havenot form an integrated whole. Based on those problems above, thisstudy will make a In-depth study of the relationship between mentalhealth, learning burnout and professional commitment in the graduategroups, and identify the degree of influence between the variousdimensions of the three according to build path analysis. The subject of this study are the450graduate students in the firstgrade and second grade of Shanghai Normal University. The inventoryof this study are "Mental Health Self-rating Scale" and "Graduate StudyBurnout and Professional Commitment Scale" that revised by Chen Taoetc. The statistical methods of this study are descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and causal path modelanalysis etc. The thesis investigates the differences and relationshipsbetween learning burnout, professional commitment and mentalhealth on the aspect of demographics, and further explore theinteraction between the three. The conclusions are as follow:(1) The learning burnout of graduate students is serious,30%students have this problem, and nearly60%students are in the state ofthe instability, if nobody give them a hand, they will become learningburnout too.(2) There is no significant difference on the demographic variables(gender, origin of student, graduating and previous session,cross-disciplinary or not) of the total score of learning burnout ofgraduate students, but it has significant difference on the professional and grade variables. The score of boys are higher than girls indepression, misconduct and low personal accomplishment, but onlylow personal accomplishment has statistical significance. Students ingrade two get higher scores than students in grade one in learningburnout and the three factors of it, and only the total score of learningburnout, misconduct and low personal accomplishment have statisticalsignificance. The score of rural students are higher than the students ofthe town in low personal accomplishment, and it has statisticalsignificance.(3) The level of professional commitment of graduate students isslightly higher than the median value, but there are still about70%students stay on intermediate state, only30%students have highprofessional commitment. The total score of professional commitment issignificantly different in professional, grade, origin of student,cross-disciplinary or not etc. Expressed as: science and engineeringstudents are higher than liberal arts students, students in grade one arehigher than students in grade two, rural students are higher than thestudents of the town, inter-professional students are higher than non-cross-professional students.(4) In addition to interpersonal sensitivity factor score lower than thenational norm of the graduate students, the score of the remainingfactors are higher than the national adult norm. These facts show thatwe should concern the mental health level of graduate students. Themental health problems of graduate students are significantly differenton demographic(gender, grade, professional, origin of student, graduating and previous session). Boys are higher than girls, liberal artsstudents are higher than science and engineering students, students ingrade two are higher than students in grade one, rural students arehigher than the students of the town, previous students are higher thanthe fresh students. (5) There is significant negative correlation between learningburnout and professional commitment of graduate students, there issignificant positive correlation between learning burnout and mentalhealth, there is significant negative correlation between professionalcommitment and mental health.(6) According to path analysis: affective commitment can predictlow personal accomplishment; ideal commitment and normativecommitment can predict depression, and misconduct and lowpersonal accomplishment; depression, misconduct, and a sense ofachievement can predict mental health.
