Two concepts of personality, self-esteem and self-love, are both different and relevant. The structure of self-love, adopted by this study, is the two form theory accepted by most psychologists nowadays, overt self-love and covert self-love. Self-esteem is the active attitude towards a population by an individual. Achievement motivation refers to the inner driving power people have of trying to accomplish a goal. Recent years have witnessed hot issues of self-love and self-esteem personality among psychologists. Scholars home and abroad have shown intense interest in this area with large amounts of fruitful research results. There is a relatively small amount of research in our country and many of the conclusions have to be amended due to the social and cultural differences. Personality factors that affect the level of achievement motivation, the main problem of this study.On the basis of previous research, this study aims to extend the research results of self-esteem and self-love in our psychological area and tries to explore their relationship with college students’achievement motivation.The study has adopted stratified random sampling and402undergraduate students majored in English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Clinical Medicine and Preventive Medicine from three universities in Tianjin have participated in the questionnaire. The research instruments are "Questionnaire of Self-love Personality" by Zheng Yong and others, SES by M. Rosenberg and AMS by Ye Renmin. After the analysis of the affecting factors of self-love, self-esteem and achievement motivation of college students, the relationship between achievement motivation and college students’self-love and self-esteem is discussed with Structural Equation.Research conclusions are:1.There exists a correlation in college students’achievement motivation and their self-love and self-esteem in gender, only or not child, mother’s educational background, place of born and grades.2.There is no correlation among college students’achievement motivation and their self-love and self-esteem in father’s educational background.3.There exists a correlation in college students’self-love and its different dimensions, self-esteem and two achievement motivations.
