Based On The Traditional Bamboo Weaving Technology Of Modern Commodity Design Practice And Research

Chinese traditional handicraft as an essence of traditional technology culture andhuman wisdom, is a kind of artistic creation to meeting people’s material and spirituallife，which should be regarded as important intangible cultural property. Howeverfaces the danger of extinction, in addition to the passive protective mechanism such asmuseum or intangible cultural heritage, but we need to find the other way to solve theproblem of inheritance and innovation from the root.According to the traditional bamboo weaving craft as a starting point, making acomprehensive investigation and research on the traditional bamboo weaving throughin-depth investigation, experience learning and exchange visits, and on this basis,combining traditional Chinese design thinking, put forward a design concept ofsymbiosis about Chinese traditional handicraft and modern design. At the same time,through the manifold design experiment and research, to do a design proposal ofmodern household products, try to make a substantive attempt for the activation oftraditional bamboo weaving.
