As a great leader of cultural circles in the middle of Northern Song Dynasty, SuShi is famous for his calligraphy whose effect is beyond compare. However, at theend of Northern Song Dynasty, the works were prohibited and destroyed while theywere popular again during Southern Song Dynasty. From the view of the late-middleNorthern Song to Southern Song, the spread and acceptance of Shu shi’s calligraphywent through a bumpy time. In this article, how Shu’s calligraphy spread and wasaccepted will be discussed, as well as the influence of spread and reasons ofacceptance will be preliminary analysised. On the one hand, with the reference toinfluence of spread and reasons of acceptance, it’s not only about the art itself,but also about the relation to political background, social thoughts, valueorientation and so on. On the other hand, refering to Shu’s calligraphy, its valueand significance are exactly explained and established gradually with the movingprocess of spreading and being accepted.
