The Spread And Acceptance Of The Book Of Chuxueji In The Song Dynasty

In the history of the compilation of Chinese books,Chuxueji,compiled during Tang kaiyuan years(713-742),has an important position.Chuxueji which including thirty volumes is a kind of book written by people under the guidance of Xu Jian directed by Emperor Xuanzong which is beneficial to the composition of princes,and the editing style is different from the general books.The officials who composed Authorized Books call it "the very beginning is narration,the second is matter,the end is poem.Although its narration is mixed with various books,the second one seems to connect each other and differs to any other books” It can be said that Chuxueji is based on the acquisition of the advantages of various important books.The purpose of the book is to instruct the princes to "examine the matter",which was originally circulated only in the imperial palace and then spread to the people in the late Tang dynasty because of the war,but it is not widely circulated.After the Five dynasties to the Song dynasty,Wu Zhaoyi of late Shu Kingdom(934-965)firstly published the first edition of Chuxueji and it was widely spread.In the Song dynasty,Chuxueji was widely circulated,and in the northern Song dynasty(960-1127),the Imperial College reprinted the book composed by Wu Zhaoyi,which is the only official record of the book.The earliest edition of Chuxueji is published in the southern Song dynasty Shaoxing 17 years whose author is named Yu of Chongchuan city in Dongyang.Chuxueji has become the literati must be read in the Song dynasty,scholars of the Two Song Dynasties showed their prosperous acceptance of Chuxueji and the way of acceptance also presents various diversification,such as those well-developed individual works collation,the collection of problem solving and book by category in Song,they all have direct or indirect reference from Chuxueji's relevant materials;In some of the writings of the Song people,there is also a mixed evaluation of the book.All of these indicate that Chuxueji is a widely accepted book in the Song dynasty and its people.This paper takes the above observation as the basic entry point,investigating the circulation and reception of Chuxueji in Song dynasty.The first chapter analyses the organization and circulation of Chuxueji in Song dynasty,through some literature and bibliography,preface and postscript and other materials,make it clear when does Chuxueji form a book,make private copies,organize and spread,etc,thus generally understand its circulation and the scope of influence in Song dynasty,and provide the audiences with basic materials for the second and the third part of discusses.The second chapter deals with the content of Chuxueji in the literary works of different genres in the Song dynasty,and discusses its acceptance and understanding of Chuxueji in many directions.Specifically,we can use Chuxueji from book by category and multiple other means,such as,most of the Song dynasty books have quotations from the content of Chuxueji,and among them some books copied from it without explanation.Collection works use Chuxueji by “various means”,as Song dynasty corpus collation often quote the material of Chuxueji,corpus and the problem solving paraphrase the material of Chuxueji without explanation.In general,the quotation of Chuxueji in Song dynasty literary works presents two features,that's the diversity of genres and the diversity of references.The third chapter,in view of the understanding and use of the Chuxueji recorded in the works of Song poets,combined with the era background,specifically analyze the understanding and reception of Song poets.In a word,Chuxueji as an official book by category with good style and early publishment had some influence on later literature,while it was not widespread in the Tang dynasty.How was it widely circulated in Song dynasty and what's the Song dynasty scholars' attitude towards it are the main content of this paper.
