A Study On The Spread And Acceptance Of Song Jiang's Image

The study of the literature spread and acceptance is one of the developments of the literary studies in the 21st century. In the perspective of the literature spread and acceptance, the study about Song Jiang, the main character in All Men Are Brothers, is a very interesting and helpful subject. And it is a great challenge to study this image's generation, development, spread and acceptance,etc.Song Jiang is a symbol with the dual cultural significance—both historical and literary nature. As the key figure in All Men Are Brothers, the image of Song Jiang has gone through a long process of dynamic spread and acceptance. Before All Men Are Brothers became a complete novel, the image of Song Jiang was taken a clear shape by the various forms, such as the history of biography, opera, ballad literature, literary notes,etc. After the novel was finally finished, readers at the different periods begin to use the various forms, such as comments, continuation, drama adapted, to recognize and re-create the image of Song Jiang, which is quite good for the image's spread of acceptance. On the basis of the other scholars' studies, from the synchronic point of view, this paper makes a more systematic study on the image's spread and acceptance by selecting the specific periods in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It explores the special process that the image of Song Jiang comes into the readers' view and has been continuously spread, constantly explained and accepted at different times. And it also probes the common characteristics of the readers'spread and acceptance in the same times. It discusses at the different times the spread and development of the readers' interpretations about the image of Song Jiang. Finally it analyses the image's changes in the time chains and the the reasons that cause these changes.
