The sound of language is an important medium of communication. Those days phonological processing strategies have been attracted more and more attention from scholars. Western studies have shown that phonological processing strategy is crucial in learning to read. However, the majority of the research results were comes from the native English speakers, the Chinese writing system is different from the English system, so what are the characteristics in the use of voice processing strategy? Are ages and different English proficiency influence the use of speech processing strategies?With this question, according to Baddeley’s working memory model, A total of96collage students were tested. All of them were speaking English as a second language. This article attempt to explore the different phonological processing strategies were used by different student. Three grade students participated in four experimental tasks, the results show that the three students in grades there are differences in the overall score of the four experimental tasks, but no difference in the use of speech processing strategies. Stage in college freshmen and sophomores, English proficiency and low English proficiency students speech processing strategies using the differences are significant, however, to the third grade there was no significant difference. Three grade students did not show gender differences in the use of speech processing strategies.
