Opera "volunteers Fiancee. A Preliminary Study

The opera <the fiancée of a volunteer>, with the Korean War as the background, had agreat influence in that time, and was one of our representative operas in the early1950s. Theopera successfully shaped an artistic character, a rural girl in the new China, deeply revealedthe conflicts and the contradictions between the old and the new moral-value system, and wasconsistent with the Yan’an YangGeJu and other liberated areas’ operas at the period of theAnti-Japanese War. The opera adopted the“drama+sing”forms on the whole, but its musicalform appears to be relatively simple, that can not fully meet the need of characterization anddrama contradictions. The opera aimed to inherit the Opera creation tradition of the <white-haired girl>, but failed to inherit and carry forward the "comprehensive" art creation traditionas the opera of the <white-haired girl>, so that it shows historical limitations. The operashows the consistency of Our army opera creation in the revolutionary wars, as well as thecreation features of the Chinese army opera, whether from the themes or the contents,whether from the genre characteristics or the style types.
