The main object of study of this paper is the Fifth Moon Group in Taiwan. First, wehave to do a research of development of Taiwan’s art in detail before the time when theFifth Moon Group was established so that we could tell the vital historical background of it.The time could be divided into two periods: the Japan-ruled period and the People’sRepublic of China-founded period. Second, this thesis analyses how the Fifth Moon Groupwas founded from the united activities of the schoolfellows of the Fine Art Department inTaiwan Normal University to the Five people Exhibition and eventually the founding ofthe Fifth Moon Group. Third, this thesis analyses the all previous Art Exhibitions of theAssociation and the movement of personnel in detail. What’s more, to better analyze, thethesis picks the principle Membership Guosong Liu as a case study. Besides, there is acomparison between the Fifth Moon Group and the contemporaneous Eastern ArtAssociation. At last, this paper draws a conclusion of the influence of the Fifth MoonGroup to both the Taiwan Art and the Mainland Art. This paper analyses the developmentof Fifth Moon Group through a mass of relevant literature information.This paper mainly solved the issues including the beginning, development andinfluence of the Fifth Moon Group in Taiwan with the related historical researches. Basedon the summarization of the relevant literature information, this paper tends to give aclear clue of history of the Fifth Moon Group. Also, this paper runs analytical studies andsummaries to the status of development of that period’s arts. Therefore, we could get adeep knowledge of the Fifth Moon Group and other related historical issues.
