Most of Chinese students who studied in Japan had returned after the anti-Japanese warbroken out, and the massive movement of modern Chinese education to study in Japan came toan end. However, Chinese students were sent to Japan in order to study by governments whichimproved services for Japan, and many students chose to take themselves in order to explore thesituation of the enemy, which made the education studying in Japan continued. According to theauthor, there were378Shandong students in Japan in clear record, and the author estimatedabout500Shandong students in Japan during the anti-Japanese war.Because the domestic schools were destroyed by puppet army in Shandong occupied areasduring this period, many of them also were took over became the scene of the slavery education, and the road was blocked again to the kmt-controlled area. Or out of the attitude that "nothingventure, daunted" and " know the enemy and know yourself, and fight the psychological", orunder the lure of, or the relatives, friends and teachers to persuade and recommend to go to Japan, they chose to study in Japan. Although it was’t a wise choice, it was helpless. There were some following characteristics in this period: The school which Shandongstudents studied mainly concentrated in the eastern coastal regions such as Qingdao, Penglai,Huang county and administrative center Jinan inland; Bursars were minority and self-supportedstudents were great majority; School that they studied mainly concentrated in Tokyo; Thenumber of people learning liberal arts are far more than learning science; Students studyingabroad mostly had graduated from high school or higher, etc.Puppet army regime lengths’ ultimate goal to send Chinese students studying in Japan wasto systematically develop a batch of senior "traitors". However it was opposite of theirmovement, a lot of cadastral students during this period had participated in the various forms ofanti-Japanese patriotic activities, or return home but also raised the banner of the anti-Japanese toparticipate in the various forms of anti-japan war. But there are also some Chinese born to theregime as pseudo. Need to be pointed out that none of them were big traitors such as WangJi-tang, Wang Ching-wei, and their harms were not great! After the victory of the anti-Japanesewar, they were involved in the campaign against selections of recovering area, or joined in thedemocratic parties, or as the identity of CPPCC member became important in the early years ofnew China democratic forces; Some became literary and arts celebrities, a cadre of post-warreconstruction of education, all kinds of science and technology leader in the field of experts, medicine, a&m areas of outstanding talents, and so on.These Shandong students who studied in Japan during the anti-Japanese war during thisperiod were sent to Japan by governments which improve services for Japan, and part of them worked in those government, but it is unfair that we call them the "traitors"! They didn’t harmthe interests of country and nation. Because when the Japanese surrender, they had worked soonor as false, or had not yet graduated. This period of big traitors, mostly stayed in Japan early ofthe republic of China. Studying in Japan during the war only their helpless choice, and they madeup for talent shortages caused by war after returning home, became an important force inbuilding the new China."Study of alien in wartime, not the slave of Japan", this is the conclusionof this article.
