Xu Song Dynasty Tea Poetry Aesthetic Study

Tea poem is the art combination of Chinese traditional poem culture and tea culture. The prosperity of tea culture in the Song dynasty resulted in the existence of large number of tea poem, among which some are renowned and excellent. The tea poem fully shows rich cultural deposit and aesthetic value, reflecting poem writers’ delight and realm of life, as well as their aesthetic pursuit.In this paper, the tea poem in the Song dynasty is reviewed and analysised comprehensively. The first part mainly analysis the aesthetic fashion and pursuit of the Song dynasty. By describing people’s pleasure in enjoying shape, color, fragrance and taste of tea in poem, writers display their acquaintance of tea beauty, and show their aesthetic taste.In the second part, with description of some specific tea masterpieces,the paper probes into three different realms of taste and aesthetic:self-consciousness with tea, combination self with tea, and regardless of self and tea.Based on the first two chapters, the third part sums up four aesthetic cores of tea poem in the Song dynasty: clear, elegant, bitter and harmonious.These four is to explain, through tea ceremony, people’s pursuit for the artistic way of life, the elegant aesthetic interest, the border of nature, the perfect personality, the existence wisdom, and life condition with harmony between human and nature.Last part mainly analyses the beauty of poetic form.The whole paper, based on the aesthetic perspective, mainly studies on poem writers’ aesthetic pursuit in tea ceremony, and explores their aesthetic and life ideal, to analyses tea influence on their spiritual world and explain aesthetic trait of tea poem in detail.
