Violent behavior is an extreme form of the aggressive behavior, it is defined as the behavior that causes grievous injury to others or objects. Because of its great harm to society, sociologists and psychologists always work over how it happens and what we can do to prevent it. For the past few years, psychologists have studied much on the biological, social and psychological factors related to the violence, as the important causes of it, power and empathy are also coming into notice. However, most of the researchers just focus on how the real power and empathy influences the explicit violence behavior or attitude by questionnaire methods and measurement methods.Combining pre-exiting research methods, the present study attempted to apply experiment and measurement method for providing a clearer view of respective effects of power and empathy on implicit and explicit violent attitude.560samples of undergraduates of Nanjing normal university were randomly selected for the research, according4experiments, it concludes as follows:1. Implicit violent attitude of high power-primed people, low power-primed people and neutral power-primed people had significant difference, and multiple comparison shows, there was significant difference between implicit violent attitude of high power-primed people and that of low power-primed people, implicit violent attitude of high power-primed people and that of neutral power-primed people had significant difference too, but no significant difference between the implicit violent attitude of low power-primed people and that of neutral power-primed people;2. Explicit violence attitude among high power-primed people, neutral power-primed people and low power-primed people didn’t have significant difference;3. Implicit violence attitude between empathy-primed people and that of neutral-primed people didn’t have significant difference;4. There was no significant difference between explicit violence attitude of empathy-primed people and that of the neutral-primed, but there was significant difference between explicit violence attitude of empathy-primed men and that of the neutral-primed, explicit violence attitude between empathy-primed women and that of the neutral-primed didn’t have significant difference.
