As it is known to all,"The changes of literature are closely linked with social circumstance, the prosperity of literature and decay are relevant times". In recent years, consumerism has had a great impact on literature, and the post-80s and90s youth brought to market is very popular. This paper intends to summarize the consumption features of Post-80s and90s youth novel from the four links of literary activities, world, authors, works and readers by the methods of cultural research. With the hope of promoting the development of literature and attention to the post-80s and90s youth novel’s current situation and development trend, this is not only thinking about the development of the post-80s and90s youth novel, but also considering the development of whole literature.The introduction part mainly defines the research object, that’s the post-80s and90s youth novel and points out that the post-80s and90s youth novel is a kind of novel style with the feature of times, written by literature writers who were born in the1980s and1990s, primarily to express adolescent life and youth emotion and is mainly accepted by youth.The first chapter of the paper analyzes that the post-80s and90s youth novel is affected by world’s consumerization from the world link, and in terms of consumers, consumption products, and consumption space,this part analyzes the consumption landscape and existing problems of the post-80s and90s youth novel. Finally this part elaborates the post-80s and90s youth novel should transcend consumption world and lead to a broader world.The second chapter of the thesis analyzes firstly the difference between author and writer from the producer of literature originators,, and then points out that the authors’ creation is a special kind of spiritual production, and the authors are collective men who create works according to the principle of esthetics, are real subjective creators. Compared to the authors, the writers are restricted by market, following the logic of the market rather than literature, and so they are lacking of subjectivity. Following the market-centered demand, the post-80s and90s youth novelists can be productive with egregious speed in writing, according to the issue and contents of works, the writers are just like merchandise producing men. But a real great creator could not only be writer enslaved to consumption but also be an author full of subjectivity.The third chapter of the thesis analyzes the difference of works and writing products from the text. Literature is a kind of works written by human being, needing material conversion to become available as reading object, and it’s also a kind of aesthetic object, presenting a kind of unique aesthetic value. But literature "products" obviously possess the character of merchandise, whose main criteria for text is profit they can obtain. The post-80s and90s youth novels possess the character of mass goods production, full-bodied commerce and recreational features, so that they are lack of aesthetic value. Thus, return to work from "product" should be the direction of post-80s and90s youth novel.The fourth chapter points out the difference between readers and consumers from the recipient. The ideal readers are readers of subjectivity, with a higher literary accomplishment and aesthetic demand, as value subject, endowing literary works with "life"."Consumers" are contented with all kinds of cultural "products" of entertainment and diversion provided by market, and needs improving their artistic accomplishment and aesthetic interest. The recipients of the post-80s and90s youth novel gradually become "consumers" under the cooperation of market and creators, and enjoy this tirelessly, presenting more consumers’ characteristics. The recipients of the post-80s and90s youth novel need improving their literary accomplishment and interest and realize the transformation from "consumers" to ideal readers.It is unavoidable that consumption has an effect on literature, the post-80s and90s youth novel is presenting thick consumer feature, but its literariness cannot be blotted out. The post-80s and90s youth novel can not enter the market only but do not enter "the literary arena ". Even if consumption logic is so strong, the post-80s and90s youth novelist also should persist in the literary inner stipulation and continuously improve writing level, develop into the really outstanding writer, and then mould ideal readers by producing good works.
