The preface and postscript text is an important offshoot of the ancient Chinese prose, due to the special function of the stylistic and aesthetic value, the preface and postscript text gradually pulled away from the traditional style, developed into an independent style. Yang Wanli is an important essayist, and his preface and postscript text have a certain representation in the quantity and quality. The number of his prefaces and postscript is rich, and they distinctive characteristics of art, contains a certain concept of prose. This paper attempts to systematic study of the prefaces and postscript text of Yang Wanli from five aspects.The brief introduces the object of this paper and the status quo of Yang Wanli’s preface and postscript text. At the same time, the preface and postscript text have to be defined, described the development origins of the preface and postscript, and the classification of different ancient Chinese poetry collection, in order to clear scope of the study.The first chapter, through the analysis of cultural and literary background of the Song Dynasty’s prosperity, summed up the reasons for the rapid development of the preface and postscript text in the Song dynasty, at the same time give the overall overview of Yang Wanli’s preface and postscript text.The second chapter, combined the social patterns and changes in the life sorrow, Yang Wanli’s preface and postscript text creation is divided into three stages:the home official career period, Career hilltop period and the retired period, in order to perceive the creative process of the Yang Wanli’s preface and postscript text. And based on this, paper analysis the characteristics of each period.The third chapter, writer combined with specific work, from the three angles commence in detail:judge the figures, discourse truth, and enjoy the arts to discourse. In order to explore the writer’s personality, learning ideas and aesthetic tendencies.The fourth chapter, analysis of the structure and organization, expression and language sentence of the Yang Wanli’s preface and postscript text.Meanwhile, contact the Tang and Song Dynasties literary movement, and the view of part of the Southern Song dynasty prose, analysis the great importance to the momentum and attention to practical view of prose of the Yang Wanli.
