The Japanese City Construction And The Management Of Public Sculpture Research Career

The urban public sculpture in neighbouring country Japan started by the outdoor sculptures.But after the Second World War, the status of mother and child and the nude status of man and woman had been installed as a symbol of the freedom and peace.During the high economic growth period in the1960’s and1970’s, many outdoor sculptures were installed, forming part of city landscape by the trend of the times and local culture, in various parts of Japan as "an urban development with the sculpture".At the post-bubble years the new movement has occurred and increased the chance to see many public arts of different client and in the various environment and situation, in FARET Tachikawa and Shinjuku ILAND, Tokyo MIDTOWN or Roppongi Hills.However through the passage of time, the outdoor sculptures in the city have been depreciated by the physical and social environmental condition.This report has been researched and analyzed the development and depreciation process on the time axis, and the condition of maintenance about the works which had problems in the23wards of Tokyo.From these considerations, I would like to suggest some possibility of maintenance, and do some contribute to the development of the urban sculptures in China in this moment.
