The New Leipzig School of Painting originated from the Leipzig Academy of Book Art and Graphic Design in Democratic Germany,which evolved and developed on the basis of the Leipzig school of painting.The school not only continued the artistic characteristics of Leipzig school,but also received the development thoughts of Western European aesthetics after the unification of Germany.In terms of picture expression,he intentionally abandoned the traditional rigid painting form and gave priority to expressing realistic meanings.The new Leipzig school takes historical events as the basis of its works,takes real life as the theme,integrates abstract image language in the picture,and the connotation of its works is also more sincere.For the creation of the artists of the New Leipzig school,the main features of their works are derived from the real portrayal of life,but they are reprocessed through their own unique artistic language,making them into vivid and real pictures that exist independently.This paper first describes the historical formation process of Leipzig painting school,and how the new Leipzig painting school developed from Leipzig painting school;Then it analyzes the overall artistic language characteristics of the members of the New Leipzig school and the creative language mode of neo Rauch,the leading figure of the school.Secondly,the author analyzes the three main characteristics of the painter Neo Rauch’s works.Finally,the author discusses the inspiration brought by the characteristics of such language art form to his creation.This revelation focuses on the author’s choice of creation theme,artistic form language expression,and the expression of the author’s emotion.
