In early2011, a major political change from Tunis has triggered protests against Libya Leader Qaddafi who put down his own people in order to prevent further development of the chaos, which rendered Libya’s international image of great loss. The United Nations quickly passed two resolutions of sanctions against Libya government. The United Kingdom, along with other Western countries, has interfered in Libya’s internal crisis. The main task of this article is to find out the reasons why Britain is so positive to interfere in Libya that is the main driving force for me to explore the purposes of the United Kingdom against Libya, not Bahrain and Syria which have the same problem in their own countries. The paper is divided into five parts. The first part is a brief introduction concerning political, economic and military relations between Libya and the United Kingdom. It can be seen that the two countries have twists and turns in developing their bilateral relations, not in a smooth manner. The second part is to analysis the factors of British interference from current situation perspective. As variables, major political changes of the Arab world, the popularity of the democratic ethos and human rights as well as other countries attitudes and reactions to Libya are the main ones. The third part is to analysis domestic factors of Britain to explore the reasons to interfere against Libya which are based on Britain politics, foreign policy, energy demand, public opinion and democratic concept. These factors form the giant force for Britain to take actions to Libya. The fourth part is to analysis the individual factors on the leaders of Britain, Libya, France and the United States. These leaders’ reactions to the Libya crisis will influence British stand on Qaddafi’s regime. For this essay, the most important leaders are British Prime Minister David Cameron and Libya Leader Al‐Gaddafi. Besides, French President Sarkozy strongly pushing for interference in Libya has his own consideration, both in his election for next French president and against Germany in Europe Union with Britain. Because of Obama’s new intervention policy, it gives Britain room and chance to interfere. The fifth part is about future policy of Britain in the development of Libya. After getting rid of Gaddafi, it is easier for Britain to make its influence penetrate in Libya’s politics, economy and culture. The National Transition Committee has introduced a new democratic constitution and determined a path for democracy, which will lay the foundation for the sound development of bilateral relations with Great Britain.
