As Hu Jintao,the president of People’s Republic of China, pointedout:"China is ushering in a new era which we are continuing to build amoderately prosperous society in all respects and accelerating socialistmodernization”.As a consequence of that, the intensive study ofmodernization is extremely important to China’s development. Theconcept of "modernization" describes a process that the economy, thepolitical system and the culture of the human society is changing from thetraditional one to the modern one. This process can be divided into twolevels: the system change and the change of emotional and ethics.Scholars tend to focus on institutional changes, while ignoring emotionalchanges. This paper attempts to analyze China’s modernization process inthe view of " Ressentiment"." Ressentiment" is a controversial concept with positive means. So,firstly the concept of “Ressentiment”will be defined clearly and preciselyon the basis of Nietzsche and Scheler’s study of“Ressentiment".Secondly, the paper tries to use theory of “Ressentiment”to give the readers an intensive analysis of the generation and the affectof the “Ressentiment “feelings.in modern China. The core part of thisarticle is to use the basic principles of the “Ressentiment” theory toanalyze the background and the reason of the creation of the notion“Ressentiment”.Also, the positive and negative affect of the “Ressentiment” feelings will be discussed in this paper, Finally,thispaper will give some advice on how to resolve disputes caused by“Ressentiment” feelings.
