Survey On The Sense Of Happiness In Marriage Of WRIRA In Hua Xian

The women remaining in rural areas(WRIRA) refer to a group of married women who are remained in rural hometown to take care of the family while their husband leave for work outsides in the distant cities. They are a special group in these transitional time. Nowadays WRIRA,as a social phenomenon, widespread in Chinese rural areas and will exist in a rather long future. Their healthy conditions and self-fulfillment have been terribly affected and negatively disturbed by the stress and burden from both outside work in the farmland and chores inside home. Meanwhile, the long-lasting separation with their husbands have influenced negatively on their psychological conditions and marriages. With these factors, on one hand, WRIRA are difficult to adapt themselves to the new life in the socialist construction in the rural China, on the other hand, their marriages are likely to corrupt into pieces and reduce the stability of marriage. Therefore, studying on well-being and quality of their marriage has both the academic value and practical significance. In order to get information of the well-being and quality of marriage of WRIRA in Hua Xian, Henan province, questionnaire and case interview method are adopted in this study. Base on this information, the thesis analyzes the data, explores the reasons and gives suggestions to improve stability and well-being of WRIRA’s marriage.According to the survey, WRIRA generally have a low well-being level, showing on the following respects:firstly, living apart cause a series of problems in their marriage; secondly, their life quality is difficult to improve by lacking material and culture resources in countryside; thirdly, WRIRA are now facing a self-development squeeze, and enjoy little happiness of self-fulfillment.Suggestions are given on the basis of analysis above, viewed in the perspective of the policy, the government, the society, and WRIRA themselves, including:policy should be perfected and laws system be amplified so as to protect lawful rights and interests of WRIRA; Government should devote major efforts to developing local economy so as to decrease the quantity of WRIRA; Society should pay more attention to WRIRA, and All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) and its local organizations should exert function of "mother family"; Setting up village libraries and public room, so as to enrich WRIRA’s spare time, at the same time, improve their qualities, helping them to change mind.
