Diplomatic strategy is the foundation of a country’s diplomatic practice and, it is also the essential condition for a country surviving, preserving international image and improving international status in the international community.China diplomacy strategy, more than60years history, has adjusted for several times according to changes of domestic and international situation. It has gone through the "one-sided" diplomatic strategy, the "anti-imperialist, anti-revisionist and world revolution" diplomatic strategy, the "a large, a line" diplomatic strategy and the Omni-directional multi-level diplomatic strategy. The gains and losses of the strategy have provided a profound enlightenment for our countries diplomatic work today.Diplomatic strategy always is the major issue at every stage of diplomatic affairs. This thesis defines the new China diplomatic phases and analyzes the diplomatic strategy by focusing on changes of diplomatic conception, effect of time and lessons from these changes. By doing this, we can have a comprehensive understanding of the gains and losses of the strategy and, make a plan about what our diplomatic strategy will be in the next40years. Both the assessment of the international environment and changes of a country’s diplomatic goals, diplomatic conceptions and internal political goals can make they adjust their diplomatic strategy. These adjustments of diplomatic strategy were still reasonable even though they seem to be overdone in historical perspective. The comprehensive assessment of the international environment and the establishment of diplomatic goals are critical importance for a country to construct diplomatic strategy.In the future, China needs to make some adjustment with changes in both the international and internal environment. In the process of constructing the Omni-directional multi-level diplomatic strategy, we should make comprehensive assessment of the international environment and changes of a country’s diplomatic goals, diplomatic conceptions and internal political goals. The setting of diplomatic policy and practice should be controlled. Only in this way, our diplomatic strategy and practice be successful.Diplomatic strategy is an ambitious project, it requires Chinese diplomats to make a tremendous effort to put into practice. Then we can lay a concrete foundation for the revival of our country.
