With the deepening acceleration of modernization, urbanization, rural-urban migration, agricultural population’s transference to non-agricultural sector has become the inevitable trend of social and economic development. Since the1980s the number of Uyghur migrant workers in mainland cities has increased a lot, and traveling to work and entrepreneurship has become an important economic source of generate income. Uyghur migrant workers’migration to mainland had provided the opportunity of more contact with different nationalities, different cultural practices for urban residents to enrich their lives. However, accounting for different language, religion, customs, values, behavior, survival and adaptation process of the mainland cities, they are facing more difficulties and challenges compared with other ethnic groups of migrant workers. It seemed more difficult to integrate into mainstream society of the mainland cities for Uyghur migrant workers. As the size of this group continues to expand in mainland cities, the problem of adaptation and survival prominently increased. Therefore, the living and working conditions to survive in cities, adapt and integrate of the Uyghur migrant workers, has attracted a wide range of community concern.In this paper, the author used the methods of quantitative research, workers groups, took the Uyghur migrant workers in Wuhan City, Hubei Province for example, and used sociological theory to study Uyghur migrant workers’urban survival and adaptation. In general, the article is divided into four parts:The first part describes the background of the study, the significance of the topic, the definition of the main concepts, the research methods and literature review; The second part introduces the Uyghur migrant workers’survival and adaption to the status in Wuhan City.(quo, namely, social, economic and psychological survival and adaptation); In the third part, the author analyses Uyghur migrant workers’survival and adaptation by using foreign and domestic sociologist theory and discovered that the source of the difficulties in Wuhan is social exclusion. And by using sociological theory of social exclusion, formed analysis on informal aspects of social exclusion of China’s urban and social function, such as the lack of personal ability, lack of social capital, the social security system, education system and the system of social exclusion, as well as customs, ethics, values,cultural traditions, expand sense. And on this basis, the author unscrambled the restrictive effect of social exclusion to the Uyghur migrant workers’ survival and adaptation. In the fourth part, the author discussed the influence of social exclusion and promoted Uyghur migrant workers in Wuhan City to survive and adapt to the difficulties and put forward their own proposals, social subjects in order to take full advantage of superior resources, protection of the legitimate rights and interests of the Uyghur migrant workers and enhance their urban survival and adaptability.Because of limited time and the shortage of the material in this field, there are a lot of insufficiencies to be resolved in this article. Nowadays, the research on the Uyghur migrant workers’survival and adaptation to the urban mainland cities, has important theoretical significance. Uyghur migrant workers’integration accelerates the regional economic development, ethnic relations in cities and even the construction of harmonious society.
