With the gradual advance of urbanization and the number of rural migrant workersincreasing year by year in China, the urban social inclusion of rural migrant workershas become an important issue which will influence China`s social development in thefuture. Under the circumstance of differentiation has been generated in the ruralmigrant workers, it is unable to recognize the internal differences of rural migrantworkers accurately to analyze that group generally as a whole. Overall, the self-employed have become the main force of rural migrant workers on urban socialintegration. Under this background, this paper selects that group as object of study toanalyze the core of urban social inclusion of self-employed rural migrant workers, thecomprehensive situation of urban community integration, from the perspective ofsocial exclusion. It can provide a useful reference to promote urban social inclusion ofrural migrant workers. The article has proposed the framework and hypotheses of study on the basis ofprevious studies. And some indicators to measure urban community integration havebeen constructed in this paper. Through organizing and analyzing the materials of thesurvey, the study found that there are different results in each part of urbancommunity integration of self-employed rural migrant workers. The communityparticipation and interaction of this group are obviously insufficient in the city. However, their expression on the community psychological adaptation in the city ismore positive. With further correlation and regression analysis of data, someconclusions can be drawn: the individual and occupational factors which influenceurban community integration has gradually began to dissolve. The urban communityintegration of this group, on the one hand, is influenced by structural exclusion frominstitutional factors which include pension,health-care and children`s education. Onthe other hand, it is influenced by non-structural exclusion from the individualpsychology and life experience. In the end of this paper, the author points out thatpromoting the urban community integration of self-employed rural migrant workers is not only begin with the reform of urban-rural dual institutional system. At the sametime, we also need to constantly improve the internal and external environment ofcommunity through strengthening community building and carrying out theintegrating education to residents.
