There are two big characteristics in Wuhan development at present that is the aging of the population and the city industrial structure upgrades. Wuhan economic development must take into account this two big characteristics. In Wuhan City older residential development not only can reasonable use of city space, but also can effectively promote economic restructuring, regulate the healthy development of real estate industry, improve elderly living conditions and living standards. Similarly, Wuhan city’s rapid economic development and social welfare greatly to promote older residential development to provide favorable conditions.This paper firstly studies the domestic and foreign different type endowment pattern, especially the United States, Europe and Japan. Writer investigated the elderly residential development status in Beijing and Shanghai that are two big cities. Then considering the city department of Wuhan for the aging status and development trend, from various angles of Wuhan city elderly residential supply and demand, thus put forward the Wuhan City older residential development and use patterns.They are "appropriate modification of old aged residential" as the main body and proper development of geriatric Residence and elderly community development model, and to service provision is dominant, with rental and reverse property recovery mode combining older residential operation mode. Finally, considering the Wuhan City older residential development facing the lack of policy financial support, development and operation difficulties and geriatric services are owed to the development, based on main problems and difficulties based on, elderly housing development basic positioning, including Wuhan city elderly residential architecture principle, principle and basic framework of subdivision. At the same time, the Wuhan City older residential development put forward some suggestions, separately from the capital investment, market demand and government supervision to guide the suggestions from three aspects of. In the hope of promoting the Wuhan City Economic Development at the same time, can make industrial structure to upgrade, the level of social welfare can be improved.
