Danton is an influential leader in the French Revolution, but he was sentenced to death bythe Jacobins because of threat republic, colluding the enemy and betray his country, in April5,1794. From now on, the comments on him have never stopped. The evaluation about Danton isas much praised as blamed. In this paper I confirmed Denton’s contribution, and make a furtherdiscussion on his corrupt practices which led to his death.First, the paper gave a brief introduction of Danton’s political life and mainly discusseson against feudalism, establishing the bourgeois regime, resisting foreign aggression andsafeguarding national independence. Second, this paper discussed the corruption facts ofDanton, analyzed the reason and negative influence. About the corruption behavior of Dantonis undisputed and based on the facts There are three reasons lead him step on the way of leadto corruption. Subjectively, he gets along with people friendly and lack of principle. Thisnature character is the first reason; Objectively, the fighting between parties and theRobespierre’s asylum,made his corruption behavior failed to get effective supervision andrestraint. The negative influence of Dandong corruption in the French revolution is thattolerance policy can not put into practice and terrorist policy broad its scope.Finally, the paper got the comprehensive evaluation of Danton. He is not only a patriot andrevolutionist, but also is the moth in the revolutionary ranks. Danton’s corruption is an importantwarning in combating corruption and building a clean government, today. First, by means ofeducation the leaders can enhance their accomplishment. Through the moral enlightenment andpolitical theory education, leaders will enhance their ability about how to distinguish the truefrom the false.Second, through the law, people and consensus to restrict power, Set up a perfectdecentralization and restrictive mechanism, prevent collectivization. These measures areconducive to clear away the shelter of corruption, build an honest social atmosphere.
