The Study On Philanthropy And Its Cultivating Approach Of Chinese College Students

As the gap between rich and poor continues to widen in our society, and all kinds of natural disasters happens frequently, Philanthropy causes get more and more people’s attention. In recent years, the state pays much more attention to the development of philanthropy, which has made some encouraging progress, however, the situation that overall development of philanthropy causes in china is slow has not fundamentally changed. College students as one of the main subjects devote to philanthropy causes of our country in future shoulder great social responsibility and the ardent hope of the entire nation. However, according to researches of many experts and scholars, although college students generally had a charitable behavior and a certain concept of philanthropy, there are still some problems such as the complex motivations of Philanthropy, the poor knowledge of Philanthropy, the narrow way to take part in Philanthropy. Therefore, studying philanthropy and cultivating approach of Chinese college students has important theoretical and practical significance.In this paper, some methods such as studying previous literatures, making surveys and analyzing typical cases were applied to study the philanthropy and cultivating approach of Chinese college students taking Southwest Jiaotong University for example. First, the contents of this article were determined on the basis of summary of previous related research. Secondly, based on surveys and typical case interviews of college students in Southwest Jiaotong University, the philanthropy status quo of college students was described, and the correlation analysis using statistical models and theories was employed to study kinds of factors that affect the philanthropy behavior of college students, and thus the causes result in plight of college students’philanthropy behavior were got. Finally, some operational methods and cultivating approach were got based on the results of surveys, typical case interviews of college students in Southwest Jiaotong University and existing advanced experience, and then in-depth discussion was conducted from several aspects of state, society, schools, families, and students themselves, eventually a comprehensive system was founded to cultivate philanthropy behavior of college students.
